New Horizons Mission Systems Engineer Chris Hersman:
Pluto Encounter: New Horizons is the first mission to Pluto and the Kuiper Belt of rocky, icy objects. Launched on January 19, 2006, the New Horizons spacecraft finally reached its closest distance to Pluto on July 14, 2015. Chris Hersman, the New Horizons Mission Systems Engineer, from the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab will discuss the spacecraft and instrument, as well as the observations taken during the Pluto flyby. |
