Southern sky from Mauna Kea Visitor's center
This is the view South from the parking area across the street from the Visitor's Information Station (VIS) at Mauna Kea. It's at 9,200 feet, and this photo was taken on a night when the first quarter moon was only 15 degrees or so to the West of Sagittarius. In fact, it was hard to block the glare from the moon.
