I'd like to thank everyone who came out to help with our Saturn class last
night. We had a wonderful turnout from HAL, in fact I think we outnumbered
the students. For whatever reason, we only had about a dozen students show
up, but those who were there got to see some good stuff. The skies were
becoming cloudy but we had the good luck to be able to see Saturn and a
great ISS pass as well. All of the students saw Saturn through several
telescopes (and through James' camera and laptop). It was great to hear the
'wow's as they got their first look at the rings!
Our next public outreach event is August 17th at the Howard County Central
Library in Columbia, I hope to see many of you there as well.
Thank you, and clear skies!
David
And especially a big thank you to David for pulling this whole thing off! Despite the clouds, it was obvious that those in attendance had a good time, and enjoyed what there was to see (Venus, the ISS, Saturn, Mars, and a couple of double stars).
Well done, David!
